Our Memories of Mark
Lou & Dee Riddering

We are Mark’s parents. Someone told Dee, Mark’s mother that she had made her Mark in life. Mark was well built and friends would tell him he would make a great football player. Thru his mother’s encouragement Mark took up swimming instead, eventually making the swimming and waterpolo teams in high school. One day Mark asked us if we were sorry he took up swimming instead of football. We told him we were not sorry but proud. He was very good at his chosen sport.

Mark’s goal was always to be in law enforcement. He put himself thru police academy. Our advice to Mark was “don’t be a hero.” Well, Mark was a hero. He received many awards, including four officer of year awards.

Mark is always willing to share his faith in God. He is truly is a great blessing.

Whom have I in heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire beside You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:25-26
